Perdana Lake Garden

Perdana Lake Garden is a huge beautiful garden, strategically located in the middle of Kuala Lumpur's "concrete rain forest" and is regarded as the city's most popular park.

This beautiful lake garden is the brainchild of Alfred Venning, the British State Treasurer in the 1880s.

Who would have thought the park would turned out to be what it is today. The site was once a swampy lake.

It was built around an artificial lake encompassing 91.6 hectares of undulating greenery interspersed with flowering shrubs, shady trees, exceptional botanical gardens and other notable features.

Perdana Lake Garden is immensely huge by any standard and some other notable smaller parks within its vicinity are The Orchid Garden, This Hibiscus Garden, The Butterfly Park, Kuala Lumpur Bird Park, The Deer Park and The Herb Garden. Even though I spent the whole day here, I still unable to cover the whole area comprehensively.

Due to the sheer size of the park, the management offers a free coaster service to selected destination on the park. Visitor can take the coaster ride from a station beside the National Mosque. Otherwise one can opt for the scenic walk up the hill.

Anniversary Theater which looks new and I reckon it is one of a few new features introduced to the park in the recent upgrading exercise on this park

Children's playground (Dinosaur Park) which kind of attract a lot of children with dinosaur sculptured shrubs and other cute amenities.

A man-made waterfall can also be spotted within the park. I believe there are a few more waterfalls scattered around this park.

I really enjoy walking along the many trails provided while enjoying the refreshing and peaceful surroundings of the Lake Gardens

The park looks so empty. Btw anyone jogging there? Can go jogging there or not?
