ROTF: Jetpower Optimus Prime

In the movie Revenge of The Fallen, both Optimus Prime and Jetfire combined to form a lethal combination against the Decepticons.

Jetfire decided to gave up his sparks and volunteer to donate his parts (after been mortally wounded by Scorponok) to Optimus Prime after realizing Optimus Prime do not have the necessary strength and fire power to defeat The Fallen.

It is said only the descendant of Prime can defeat The Fallen. I hope it will be elaborated in the next installment.

Jetfire contributes 2 weapons to Optimus Prime during the combination

The main rifle is held on Optimus right hand and was used to blast the solar harvester in the movie. The other light weapon is attached to Optimus left arm.

Jetpower Optimus Prime is just a sight to behold. With this combination, Optimus is able to fly and engaged his enemy from the sky.

In the movie, the aircraft engine also turned out to be a weapon when it was used to blast Megatron.

For more fire power, Optimus can hold both of his own and Jetfire's fire to inflict more damage to the Decepticons

ROTF: Jetfire

Jetfire was introduced in the movie Revenge of The Fallen. In fact, Jetfire characters had made several appearances in the animation version and most of those who follow the animation version will have some idea about the combination ability of Jetfire with Optimus Prime.

In the animation version, Jetfire is usually shown as a young and brash Autobots but in the movie version, Jetfire is totally a direct opposite character from the animation version.

In alternate mode, Jetfire ROTF is a SR-71 Blackbird. His alternate mode really stands out and it is truly a beautiful bird.

The details of the markings all over the body of Jetfire are really remarkable. I assumed Lt. Col. Brawley used to pilot this aircraft before it was put out of commission and displayed at the museum.

It bears the Decepticons insignia as Jetfire used to be one before he had a change of heart.

Jetfire is fairly hard to transform and the difficult part is to keep him balance and steady when standing. The walking stick is not much of a help too. Hardly any articulation can be achieved by this toy.

Jetfire is a must have toy for those who already had Optimus Prime as both can combine to form an awesome figure.

ROTF: Optimus Prime

I recently acquired an Optimus Prime from the movie version and finally have a chance to get a closer look at it. According to his spec, Optimus in this movie is almost perfect except for its speed (7/10) and skill (9/10).

Optimus Prime as usual adopt truck mode as his alternate mode. The only thing amiss is the presence of a trailer. I suspect the trailer will make its appearance in the third installment where it can be converted into mobile defense/repair bay. The trailer will most probably able to combine with Optimus to become Optimus Prime Super Mode.

In truck mode, Optimus has a nice blazing fire flame paint all around its body which remind me of the G1 Rodimus Prime.

One thing the transformers movie lack of is the Autobots insignia. In this toy line, the insignia is only visible while in vehicle mode.

Optimus Prime movie version is the most difficult transformation I ever encountered to date. The instruction manual don't help a lot and I rely a lot on my instinct and experience during the last stage of the transformation. Having said that, once I got my way around it, the transformation is made simpler and swift the second time around.

The energon swords, which is Optimus Prime main weapon in the last two installments are more refine in this version of toy line. The colour and design resemble those in the movie.

To add more firepower, Optimus was equipped with a rifle. The earlier toy line version does not include this rifle. Basically, both the fuel tanks combine to form this powerful rifle.

This version comes with mouth piece for the Autobots leader. It would have been great if there is an adjustable mouth piece as in the Cybertron toy line.

Transformers Night

Last week I had a gathering with some of my ex school mates who also happened to be a Transformers collectors. We agreed to bring some of our collections out for review.

This belongs to one of my friend. This is the G1 Metroplex (with Scamper and Slammer). He is regarded as Autobots' last line of defense. I expect Metroplex toy to be huge but apparently he is about the same size as my Optimus Prime (Cybertron series).

Metroplex can transform to a mobile battle station

Most of the time, Metroplex can be seen in Autobot City mode in the cartoon series. Metroplex was created by the Autobot to counter his Decepticons counterpart, Trypticon.

I was also been told in city mode, Metroplex can be expanded by combining with other G1 combiner leaders such as Hot Spot (Protectobot which form Defensor) and Silverbolt (Aerialbot which form Superion).

Optimus Primal from the Beast Wars series. This unit belongs to my friend too

Everyone should be familiar with this one. It is the Optimus Prime from the movie ROTF.

The transformation of Optimus Prime from the ROTF version is not as easy as it looks. The transformation (one of my friend just purchased it and never transformed it before) took more than 1 hour by these 2 adults. This toy is definitely not for children.
