I really like the CNY decorations at The Gardens Mall this year. It took a different approach than most of the shopping malls here.
The concept is simple yet elegant. It tries to revive the traditional Chinese way of life.
I will say it is a awesome showcase judging by the interest of the shoppes here.

2014 CNY Decoration @ Berjaya Times Square
Berjaya Times Square always make sure its decoration features are big in almost every celebration and this year is no different.
This time a 9.7m giant lantern was erected at the main concourse. The lantern design is inspired by the ancient art of Chinese paper cutting and traditional revolving lantern.

2014 CNY Decoration @ 1 Utama
It is all red and pink at 1 Utama this year to usher the coming lunar new year. This year the decoration is not that elaborated but a respectable one.
Be on the lookout for the 7.6m pagoda at the new wing concourse area which is decorated with gold and red revolving lanterns as well as shiny golden bells on each level.
Cherry blossoms is clearly absent and the mall has adopted something else which looks like something originated from Central Asia.
On certain intervals, there will be some cultural performances or lion dance at the main concourse. There is no stage been erected this time around and the performance is performed at close vicinity from the crowds.

2014 CNY Decoration @ Midvalley Megamall
Midvalley Megamall treats shoppers with a display of lanterns in their three main concourses.
The design of the lanterns here seems to diverge from the traditional paper design but it is still a sight to behold.
A stage is also been set up, probably for some cultural performances at certain interval.

2014 CNY Decoration @ Pavilion KL
It is all about red lantern and horses in Pavilion KL this year. From the main entrance to the main concourse, red lanterns can seen hanging everywhere with some cherry blossom trees at random locations.
The line man standing at the main entrance again as it did for the just concluded X'mas celebration.
The mall is filled with colourful horse figurines with the largest gathering of 688 horses.

Kajang Hot & Spicy Soup @ Puchong
I love Kajang Hot Soup and I am dying for it for some time now. As I am unable to make my way to Kajang, I just had to settle with a restaurant in Puchong Jaya.
The small hot and spicy soup (RM 12.90) arrived minutes after I placed my order. It is indeed fiery hot as a lot of peppers was added in. However, in term of taste and satisfaction, it fell short as I benchmark this soup against an old stall in Kajang.
I also ordered a small plate of lettuce in soya/oyster sauce (RM 7.90). This is pretty standard and nothing for me to benchmark it against
3 sour drink (RM 3.50) which is always refreshing. I don't think they sell any alcoholic beverage here.
There are also other dishes to choose from and the fried chicken is worth a try (RM 2.50 per piece)

2014 CNY Decoration @ The Curve
CNY is less than a month away and most of the shopping malls had hit full gears when it comes to decorations.
It is all pink at The Curve with cherry blossom as the main theme for their decoration. As CNY signify Spring Festival, the use of cherry blossom kind of send those message across to shoppers.
The South Entrance Concourse had been transformed to a Japanese Park of some sort where visitors can actually sit at the benches and enjoy the cherry blossom (although it is a fake one) and perhaps the lanterns as well.

Bavarian Bierhaus, The Curve
I came across Bavarian Bierhaus outlet while checking out The Curve. I been to their Wisma UOA outlet but not this one. I enjoy the dining/drinking experience at Wisma UOA and it is time to give this outlet a try.
Bavarian Bierhaus is one of a very few places that serves Schneider Weisse beer in Malaysia. Schneider Weisse has a long history of brewing wheat beer in Germany and definitely one of my favourite all time.
I love how the interior walls are decorated. Definitely made me feel like I am in Munich right now.
Over here, they serve 3 type of Schneider Weisse varieties; Meine blonde Weisse (Tap 1), Main Kristall (Tap 2) and Unser Original (Tap 7). A pint will cost RM 29 and although they did not show me how it was poured from the bottle, rest assure that from the head size and the taste, it is poured in a correct manner by the staffs here.
I ordered a hamburger with a choice of beef or pork (RM 39). I must said I was rather disappointed as the nearby Johnny Rockets easily blew them away when it comes to hamburgers.
Bavarian Pizza (RM34) with tomato sauce, sauerkrauts, bratwurst sausage, bacon, pork belly and mozzarella cheese. This is the first time I had a pizza with pork topping and I must said it ain't that bad.
Apparently they also sell other brands out German beers in these kegs. Will love to give it a try.
I hope to be greeted by this girl in my future visit :)
