Kissaten @ IOI Boulevard

Kissaten which means "cafe" in Japanese first started in 2008 in Jaya One with the one in IOI Boulevard as the second outlet a year later.

Kissaten serves creative fusion of Japanese, Western and local culinary. It has a neat dining place. Those claypot cooking pots on display are actually for sale.

This is the bar counter where drinks are prepared. They also serve a few brands of draught beer namely Tiger, Guinness and Paulaner.

Japanese liquors are also available.Otherwise, it would be odd having Japanese food without it.

I really like their tagline " Good People Drink Good Beer". Paulaner is definitely on top of my list when I browsed through their beer list.

They serve Paulaner (5 pints) for RM 100.What I like about the staffs here are they will always try to maintain the beer cold by regularly changing the glass with another chilled glass.

Kissaten has a few very decent food here and one of it is Tonkatsu (RM 18.90) which a Japanese deep fried pork cutlet. It is served with a slice of lemon and a thick tonkatsu sauce.

The salted pork belly (RM 11.90) is something new for me. This sinful meal has a rich meat flavour and nice texture.

I will probably be back in the near future to taste the other food it has to offer.
