Fireflies and Lotus Flower at Midvalley Megamall

I am still in Chinese New Year mood even though I came back to work earlier. Just before CNY, I went to Midvalley Megamall to shop for a few things to bring back home.

This year, the management of the mall decided to use fireflies and lotus as their main theme. Basically, almost every corner of the mall is swarmed with fireflies.

The North Court

The Centre Court took the centre stage with a towering pagoda shrine at its backdrop.

Acrobatic performances also been held here at certain intervals at the main stage.

The South Court. The decoration is almost the same as the one found in North Court.

This is at one of the atrium, nearby the connection to Cititel Hotel. Chinese furniture are on sale here.

Overall, I kind of enjoy myself around this atmosphere. It would be more interesting if the management add some varieties to each of the Courts here.

Apartment Putra Damai

Thank God I finally manage to find a place to stay while working in Putrajaya. Many thanks to my colleague, Mr. Rozaan to help me secure the apartment. For the past 2 weeks since my arrival, I been living like a nomad and it ain't fun at all.

Well, I'm currently staying in Apartment Putra Damai at Precint 11, Putrajaya. Its location is quite isolated but it is just fine with me.

This is the nearby bus stop which I took to go to work everyday. This area is served by Nadiputra bus No. 400 which will take the passengers to Putrajaya Sentral, Federal Government Complex Buildings and Alamanda.

There are a few basic amenities available here like convenience shop, laundry, cyber cafe and even a barber shop.

There is also small halal restaurant which sell mamak style and also western food. The price of the food is fairly reasonable and I find it to be cheaper than KL.

There is also an open area basketball and badminton court. Since now I'm unable to play badminton regularly, this court could be the place for me to improve my footwork by playing with the "shadow".

Most of the car park spaces here are mostly occupied although there are still some vacancies available some distance away.

Block F & G are government quarters. However, the rooms here are the same as any other blocks in the area.

Mail boxes at the ground floor. This is one concept I am not used to. Back home, our letters are sent straight to our front door.

This is the main entrance to my unit. It is secured with a steel grill gate.

This is the living room and one might notice I put a mattress there. In fact, this is where I sleep. The rooms here are just too small for me and the living room is the area with best ventilation and the only place with a ceiling fan.

There are all 3 rooms altogether and they are just too small for my liking. I have no plan to rent them out as I prefer to stay alone. However, I am happy to let those who are interested to stay for a short period of time (probably some bloggers who want to explore Putrajaya) and my new colleagues (if any) to stay here until they settle down in this new place.

The toilet and bathroom are too small and I have some difficulties to wash my clothes here.

The kitchen is equally small and I doubt I will be in the mood to cook something here. By the way, Putrajaya areas are served with piped gas (pay attention to the yellow pipe) now.

This small compartment is actually the designated area to dry the clothes. It is not ideal as it is hard to get a decent sunshine from this angle.

LuShae Jewelry

Recently I came across a jewelry store website, LuShae. The store offers a wide range of jewelry from rings, earrings and pendants. One will also get some useful tips from the website regarding the basic knowledge of jewelry as well as guides to clean and buying them. Forgot your ring size? No worries, all the information can be found in LuShae's site.

After browsing the site with my wife, she decided to pick the Matte "O" Earrings (published price at USD76). Above is the photos of how the earrings look like in LuShae's website. Ordering it is a breeze and one can paid by either credit card or Paypal.

LuShae shipped the item almost immediately after confirmation without much delay. In fact they will e-mail the buyer the tracking number and invoice once the item was sent.

The jewelry is properly packed in a sturdy box and protected internally with a bubble wrapping.

This is how the Matte "O" Earrings look like once been opened up. It looks pretty much as advertised in the site except that it looks more shinny and attractive in the site than the actual real thing. Its colouring seems to be a pale shadow of what it looks like in the site.

Anyway, it is time to put the earrings on. I received a few mixed reviews on the earrings. Some said it looks ugly and more suitable for an elderly lady. I personally think it is decently pretty. Only if the gemstone on it can produces a more effective blink blink effect, it would have been perfect

CNY 2010: Day 2

Day 2 of Chinese New Year, I had a gathering and house visiting with my friends whom I known since Primary/Secondary school.

As usual, we filled our stomach with junk food.

We also killed our time by playing card games. It's been a while now since I last played those cards. By the way, we were not gambling.

Lastly, group photos to commemorate this meaningful day/year. I was exhausted by the end of the day.
