Sichuan Restaurant is situated at New Bridge Road at Singapore Chinatown. The waitresses and the cooks are mostly from China. Around dinner time, the waitresses will be standing along the pathway to woo the passer by to dine at the restaurant.
We decided to give this restaurant a try. First we ordered fried rice with marinated vegetable and shrimp meat. It tasted alright but a bit oily.
Then comes the stir fry squid with chilli. Taste good but again appear oily
For soup, we opted boiled beef in tomato soup. Sweet and sour. Nice. This is the first time I tasted a beef souped cooked in this manner.
So far so good until these dishes came along. The Kailan and the braise spiral shell were a letdown. Some of the spiral shell had foul smell. Hence, we conclude it was not fresh. The kailan was oily.
I always try the local beer in every country I visited and Singapore is no exception. Their local beer is the award winning Tiger beer. It's good to gulp some authentic beer as the beers found in my place are mostly imitation.
Anyway, for all the above dishes and the drink cost me SGD33. Due to the bad spiral shells and oily food, I would not recommend this restaurant.

I should clarify this. Tiger beer in Sibu, my hometown, is imitation. I not referring Malaysia in general.
