The Merlion @ Sentosa

The Merlion stands majestically at Imbiah, standing at 37 metres tall, The Merlion lets you dive into the myths and legends of the deep. Entrance fee is SGD8.

When purchasing the ticket, one will be given this coin. I have no clue initially of its purpose.

However, at the main entrance to The Merlion, there is this signboard which might give one a clue on the use of the given coin.

Inside the Merlion is the exhibit of the mystery of sea monsters and the kingdom of the Merfolk as well as the lake monsters.

After the exhibit, one will be lead to a theatre which tells the story of Prince Sang Nila Utama and the discovery of a ferocious lion on the island. This is the legend of the origin of The Merlion.

After the theatre, this is where the sand dollar coin given earlier is dropped into the Mercub's mouth...........

and its wondorous luck will be revealed with this card coming out from the Mercub

From here, take the lift to the Merlion View. Once reaching there, one will have the option to go to the Mouth Gallery or Head Gallery. The Head Gallery will offer a better view.

The view at Mouth Gallery is rather limited. Again at the Mouth Gallery, some Sentosa's photographer will be station here to snap photo of the visitors and be ask to view it at the cashier at the souvenir shop later. Again, one is not obligated to purchased it. You can view it and purchased it at SGD15-20 if you like it.

Watch your head when one approach the Head Gallery

The head gallery offer a stunning views of the surrounding.

This is the Merlion Walk

This is the covered walking path to Beach Station and Songs of the Sea

Beach station and Songs of the Sea

Well, the fortune card from the Mercubs can be exchanged for this fan at the souvenir shop at the ground floor of The Merlion.

The Merlion at Sentosa Island is definitely worth a visit. There is a delifrance cafe at the ground floor for a selection of freshly baked pastries and iced cold drinks

I don't think I have ever been up to the Merlion statue (especially it costs money hehehe). So it's interesting to see photos taken by you here! I have linked this post in my recent Merlion post!

I hope after the IR is completed, the aerial view of Singapore will look prettier. Thx for sharing! Anymore of Sentosa? I am going to publish songs of the sea this week. did you watch?

It's been so long I never been to Sentosa. It really changes a lot! There's another merlion near Fullerton hotel, btw.
