The one asset Inverness itself has is its setting astride the River Ness at the head of the Beauly Firth
Inverness Castle sits on a cliff overlooking the River Ness. The castle was built between 1833-1836 to replace a medieval castle blown up by the Jacobites. Today it functions as a sheriff court. The Drum Tower will only be open to the public in the summer season portraying the castle story. The journey to Loch Ness commence from here .......
