Yu's Dolphins' Mascot

Another mascot for Sibu town was unveiled last week. Even though the official mascot for this town is a swan, somehow a model of dolphins was launched last week at Chambers Road

A friendly creature such as the dolphin was the best representing the friendly town of Sibu. Swan on the other hand representing gracefulness.

Yu's Dolphins Mascot is a joint project between Sibu Municipal Council and Ho Kang Yu Clan Association with the aim to beautify Sibu town and develop tourism.

The dolphin has a universal appeal, symbolizing freedom, joy, grace and serenity as well as uplift the spirits of many people.

The dolphins were surrounded by Zen balls water fountain and a small water fall in front of it. These combination should create a spectacular view at night.

One of the dolphins is balancing a ball with a Chinese character on it.

The Dolphins' Mascot was erected with Feng Shui in mind. I had a compass handy when I was here and found out one of the dolphins faces South while the remaining two are facing South East. The South East signify harmony and prosperity. The underlying meaning its that it wishes to bring about happiness and good luck to all the people of Sibu
