Putrajaya International Dragon Boat Festival 2010

In conjunction with the Dragon Boat Festival celebrated by the Chinese community this week, an international dragon boat competition was held from 18-20 June 2010 in Putrajaya Sports Complex at Precinct 6.

The event was held just beside the Pullman Putrajaya Lakeview Hotel. The roof design on this hotel reminds of the the Melawati Palace at Precinct 1.

I must admit Putrajaya lake is really the ideal place for such sport. With such a beautiful backdrops, even I feel like taking part in it.

The event was very well organized and many teams from local and international took part in this competition.

I notice a few visitors kind of have a picnic by the lakeside and sipping cold drinks here while enjoying the race. What a way to enjoy the weekend.

Everyone seems to have a good time here including myself.

A booth selling the gears used in the dragon boat competition. Even the pedal seems to be made of fiber glass or some sort to make it light and more efficient.

Some of the races were very tight and went down to the wire. I reckon the team will need strong arms, good co-ordination, great endurance and constant communication to excel in this race.
