Brighton which is about 2 hours drive from London is a place to enjoy the atmosphere of a quintessential pleasure resort rather than view historical sights or relax by the sea. I was here when I was a student to visit one of my friend who was studying at University of Sussex.
The Palace Pier, an obligatory call, is basically a half mile amusement arcade lined with booths selling fish and chips, candyfloss and junky souvenirs
The distinctive domes of the Royal Pavilion, an unmissable Oriental pastiche built in 1817 for the future George IV
Here is the map of the town of Brighton. This town has been a prime target for day tripping Londoners since 18th century, and its status as the nearest convenient venue for a libidinous weekend gave it a racy reputation which still lingers

The Royal Pavillion domes remind me of the Badshahi Mosque in Pakistan. Nice ones!
