The 2nd Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon was held from 18-21st March 2010 in Precinct 2, Putrajaya, near the National Millenium Monument.
I have to admit this is the first time I came so close to a hot air balloon show. I remember my previous university in Bristol is also famous for its annual hot air balloon event but I never made any effort to visit the event back then.
There are basically 5 hot air balloons available at the venue. All of them have lashing ropes on it so it won't digress from its intended path.
The public has a chance to go onboard the hot air balloon. However, I think it is kind of lame as it only raise up to some 15-25 meters up in the air before descending down.
Later in the evening, I saw some hot air balloons flew over the Ministry of Finance building
Many people were lining up for the opportunity to go up in the air on the hot air balloon. I assume the ride is free as I do not see any price tag on it.
I also find out that each hot air balloon is assigned with a call sign, which is normally found on aircraft and merchant ship.
I am quite surprise with the attendance as the venue was virtually crowded. The city suddenly came alive on weekend. Most of them came with DSLR cameras which made me looked inferior with just a normal digital camera.
This also present me with an opportunity to view some hot chicks in short pants and skirts. Well, I don't get to see this in any normal day here in Putrajaya.
Some other activities were also introduced to spice things up such as Go-Kart, para gliding and waterball
