Miri Tua Pek Kong Temple

The Tua Pek Kong is the oldest Chinese Temple in the city of Miri. Built in 1913, it is located at Jalan Bendahara, just next to the Fish Market.

View of the temple from Jalan Bendahara. It has been renovated few years ago and it is obvious it's charms are still intact from the outer appearance.

The temple is actually facing the Miri River, which is the traits of most of Tua Pek Kong temples in Sarawak, where almost all of them were built beside the river.

Some of the statues and wall carvings at the temple's wide courtyard are given a fresh coat of paint sometime ago and remain in good condition for many years to come.

Daily favour accomplished. Is it me or the posts on Miri do not garner much comments? Miri aint popular then.

The temple looks simple, but there are several distinctive architectural features that I like.
