We recently visited Cafe Palmelia at Premier Hotel to try the laksa promotion which is only available this July.
It has been ages since I last been to Cafe Palmelia. Nothing had changed. The interior is quite cozy
The laksa promotion is only available this July, on Saturday and Sunday from 8am - 2pm
Pink Guava Juice (Rm 7.50). I think the drink is a bit diluted but still taste good. I find the price of the beverages here quite expensive.
Palmelia Chendol (RM9.50). The chendol is topped up with ice cream, which is rather unusual. It tastes satisfactorily but once again I find it rather expensive. The serving is quite huge for one person and they were generous with the portion of red beans, grass jelly, fruits and etc that went into it.
This condiment comes with the Sarawak Laksa. It consists of calamansi and belacan. This is pretty standard and can be found in any laksa outlets here.
The Sarawak Laksa (RM 6) is made up of vermicelli with prawns, shredded chicken, shredded egg omelette and beansprouts in a mildly spiced laksa soup.
Unfortunately, the Sarawak laksa soup is too oily. I find the laksa at the local coffeshops around here are much better and value for money compare to the Sarawak Laksa here.
This condiment comes with the Penang Asam Laksa. It comes with soya sauce with chillies and another sauce (which I had no idea what it is but it tastes good)
The Penang Laksa (RM 7.50) on the other hand did not disappoint me. It is made of noddles with prawns, wolf herring flakes, cuttlefish, fish ball, egg, cucumber, pineapples, kangkung and onions soaked in flavoursome soup.
Cafe Palmelia also gave me a feedback form when the food were served. I never turn down an offer to leave any feedback for food, service and etc.
I was taking my time completing the feedback form. If there is a debate on which laksa is the best in Cafe Palmelia, Penang Asam Laksa is the obvious winner.
