I managed to visit the latest shopping complex, tHe Spring in my recent visit to Kuching.
Honestly, I think the location of tHe Spring is rather odd and inaccessible by public transport as it is quite a distance away from the city centre. For tourist, probably the only option is to take a taxi which might cost in the region of RM15.
The main entrance might be a bit odd for first timer. The entrances if not mistaken are located at the north and south court.
The Spring is basically a 2 levels shopping complex. It's spacious and clean. Toilets are plenty and admission is free. For those who had been shopping in KL or Singapore, this complex is relatively small. I would regard tHe Spring as the mini version of KL's Midvalley Megamall.The complex is house to a few high end product like Bonia, Guess by Marciano, Espirit, Padini, nose, Hush Puppies and etc.
The floor had a large flower, which is the symbol for tHe Spring imprinted on it.
The most prominent structure in tHe Spring is this suspended colourful fiber glass "plate". Many people threw coins into it as if it is a wishing well. One is not suppose to do so as there is a warning there that forbid such action.By the way, the day I was there, someone was hired to remove the coins after the complex was closing down at 10pm. Man, that is a lot of "tips" inside the structure
I found out this is not a popular hang out place for the Kuching people as most of them said the items sold there are expensive. I also don't see a lot of tourist around here as well, probably due to its location

Hey, i had been to the Spring before, but i didnt saw that wishing well last time, maybe because my friends are busy shopping so we just went to the shops...
Hhm, heard it is one of the most high class shopping centre in Kuching, maybe its a place for those rich person to chill...lol..
wow nice mall.. we also have a looot of nice malls here in manila. there are malls that cater to the upper and middle to lower classes.. so its just the same :)

almost all malls now are designed so nice and elegant to attract shoppers and tourist.

transportation convenience is very important for a shopping centre to be successful.
since u mentioned mid valley, it cld be accessed via road, commuter train and public buses easily
the inside design quite nice.. :)
