The just concluded Borneo Heavy Machinery Fair 2014 (17 - 20 April 2014) held at the Sibu Town Square Phase II was the first of its kind here and it was organised to promote Sibu as a heavy machinery distribution hub to support the development of construction, transportation, plantation and the agri-business industries.
The fair provides a common platform for heavy machinery and equipment manufacturers and dealers to showcase and promote their latest range of machinery to potential and new buyers.
Some of the known brands such as Isuzu, Hyundai, Komatsu, CASE, JAC are been showcasing here, largely used in the oil palm industry.
Honestly, I am a bit disappointed as I had expect some heavy lifting equipment will be introduced here. Even the mobile elevating work platform on display here are not from reputable brands.
I hope the fair returns again next year to the exact venue and it will gives the locals a better brand awareness in the name of Tadano, Sumitomo, Liebherr, Bauer, Aichi, Genie, JLG and etc.
