Today is the Chinese New Year Eve, another important day for the Chinese community. After the reunion dinner, the Chinese will engage in all kind of activities and one of them is releasing the fireworks. I have to say, firework and firecracker are illegal in Malaysia but somehow it still able to made it to the market.
These fireworks photos were taken from previous year. The fireworks back when I was a kid were more spectacular. I remember back then there were mass release of fireworks and the visibility of the surrounding was virtually zero as the smoke was so thick as a result of the fireworks.
Firecrackers and fireworks is a must during Chinese New Year. According to the legends, fireworks and firecrackers are to scare of the ferocious creature called "Nien" who is scare of 3 things; noise, illumination and red colour.
I will try to capture this year fireworks again, probably in video
This few days, before the Chinese New Year, some might receive flowers and hamper from business partners, relatives, friends and etc.
