Segamat is a town located in the north state of Johor. The town is blessed with many fair and beautiful ladies; definitely a good hunting ground for single guys out there. Besides the local ladies, the town also offers a wide range of cheap and tasty local delicacies.
The Chinese Roti Canai at Kpg. Baru Kpg. Tengah is a must try. It was filled to the brim during my last visit and there was still a long queue.
The wait for the roti canai here is legendary, with a 1-2 hour is rather common. The roti canai is so popular that it was finished before lunch time. It is a shame I did not have the opportunity to sample it but I was told its main attraction lies on its crispiness.
In the middle of the town itself, Nan Yang coffee shop is the best place for coffee and toast bread. There is something about its butter and kaya which made the toast so tasty.
Should Nan Yang run out of seat, Sin Thong Ah coffee shop right opposite it should be the next option.
Yit Kee Wantan Mee prides itself as the best wantan noodle in town. There are many similar names around the town but this is the original stall of the famous wantan noodle.
I am not a big fan when it comes to wantan noodle but this is without a shadow of doubt one of the best wantan noodle I had tries. The noodle has a bouncy texture and the special black sauce enhance its taste.
Segamat durian is well known that it has a durian replica erected somewhere at the district. I tried the durian and it is so good that I am actually craving for one now.
