Flemington Hotel, Taiping

Flemington Hotel is probably the best hotel to stay at while in Taiping. It serves as a good base to explore the town itself, Taiping Lake Garden and Maxwell Hill.

The hotel offers 4 room types; Superior Room, Premier Room, Junior Suite and Executive Suite.

The size of the superior room (RM 148) is quite decent. It did not have a refrigerator but that did not bother me. In fact I don't see anymore space inside the room to accommodate a small refrigerator. I slept quite soundly in my 2 nights stay here and that don't happen very often in most of my hotel stay.

Each room is equipped with LCD flat screen, individually air conditioning system and standard coffee & tea making facilities.

On top of that, daily newspaper is sent to the guest door step every morning around 7am.

It also comes with an electronic safe deposit box which came in handy to keep my valuables.

Internet service is also available in every room. Just plug in and one is ready to go. Unfortunately, I did not bring my laptop along to test its speed. Free wifi is also available though.

All the superior rooms here are not blessed with a nice view. One would need to stay in the premium room and above to get the lake view.

On the rooftop (5th floor), there is a skybar and swimming pool. This will be a perfect place to sip a pint of cool Carlsberg draught beer and enjoy the scenic lake view at night.

Complimentary breakfast is available at Raintree Cafe starting from 7am. They serve decent food and the staffs are pretty efficient.

I manage to try their Flemington Grilled Chicken Chop (RM 15) at Raintree Cafe for dinner.  Not too bad and it is pretty cheap too. Most of the food on the menu are quite reasonably prized.

I have a pleasant stay here and this will definitely be my first choice should I have the opportunity to come here again.
