The LimeTree Hotel

The LimeTree Hotel in Kuching is a unique and trendy 3 star boutique hotel with limes as its theme. I had notice this hotel for a few years now and finally had a chance to stay in it for a couple of days.

It is ideally located in the Kuching city centre and minutes away from Chinatown Pandungan area and shopping malls. There is a small souvenir shop beside the main entrance which sell Sarawak's as well as the hotel's signature product.

A family owned hotel, the hotel's name was conceived from the owner's passion for limes as an agriculturist, where much research and time has been spent at their privately owned plantation, located 30km from Kuching. The owner is specialized in growing the Tahitian seedless limes.

The lobby is spacious and manned with efficient and friendly staff. There are 2 PCs at the lobby for the use of the hotel guests to surf the internet.

Lime is closely related to fresh and healthy living due to its natural cleansing properties. It is with this hotel that the owner share and offer the concept of fresh and positive living to their guests through its lime inspired rooms, smoke free environment, healthy foods and friendly staff.

LimeTree's minimalist approach to design defines its 42 rooms and 8 suites. All the rooms has laminated wood flooring and equipped with free wi-fi internet access throughout the hotel, built in universal sockets, LCD TVs, plush bedding and rain showers.

The room is bursting with the scent of citrus and lime the moment I stepped into it. The superior room (RM 147.25) which I spent the nights is really spacious. It's U shaped definitely give it more space than what I expected. However, the drawback is there ain't any window for me to check the weather outside. However, the Deluxe and Suite room will have a view of the city.

The room is clean and just a perfect place for me to get some rest. There is no refrigerator inside the room in line with the hotel management vision to conserve energy.

I also can sleep with a peace of mind as security is assured as hotel guest need to tap the room key card at the elevator's card reader in order to reach the designated floor.

I'm surprised too to see a recycle bag inside the room. This would be useful during no plastic day while shopping in the city.

The standard tea making facility and bottled water. All their cups are sourced from IKEA.

LimeLight Rooftop Lounge is located at the highest floor (5th floor) of the hotel. With indoor and outdoor seatings, guests can dine and enjoy signature drinks over a breathtaking view of the city and Sarawak River. Complimentary welcoming drink is served here.

Hotel guests here are also given a free complimentary breakfast every day. I am satisfied with the choices of food served here. This is probably the only place I know that served fresh lime juice and banana fritters for breakfast. Really love their lime juice!

The hotel also is a winner of Travelers' Choice 2012, an award by tripadvisor. Without a shadow of a doubt, this hotel will be at the top of my list whenever I need a place to stay again while in Kuching.
