Little India, Singapore

Spread across dozens of little streets and alleys, Little India is the perfect sensorial backdrop to a culture rich in scents and colours. Strolling along the shophouses, one can find anything from spices to saris, essential oils to traditional fabric.

Fresh vegetables and fruits are available at the walkways here. A perfect place to do groceries.

If the aroma of curry wafting through the air is anything to go by, one will surely be fulfilled by the authentic Northern and Southern Indian cuisine.

There are also well preserved colonial shophouses around here which are perfect for photo shootings.

This place reminds me of Brickfields in Kuala Lumpur although things are more organized, clean and traffics are less congested here. Little India and Farrer Park MRT stations are within the vicinity for easy access to this area.

Hi there,

thanks for visiting my country. I do hope you enjoy the stay.

A few must visit place in Little India which any tourists should go are:

1) Mustafa Center at Syed Alwi Road. It's a 24-hour shopping mecca selling almost anything at very competitive prices. Electronics, computer stuff and gold jewelry are top favorites here.

2) Tekka Market and Food Center (just beside Little India MRT Station). This is market and hawker center rolled into one where most locals do their marketing. Food here is cheap and good too.
