Chinese New Year Eve 2011

Today is the first day of Chinese New Year but the most happening moment would be on its eve.

I was lucky enough to get my hand on a box of firecracker this year. For the record, it has been years since I last played with one.

The set up of the firecracker in front of my driveway. Its pretty long. I reckon some 5m in length.

It was lighted up at the stroke of midnight. The leftover red pieces of scattered papers are considered "wealth" and shall not be swept.

The night sky was a beauty at midnight where the people of Sibu lighted up various fireworks to usher the new year.

Happy Chinese New Year!
