Bavarian Bierhaus

Recently, I am a fan of German beers and been searching around KL and Selangor for a decent German restaurant and bar. I came across Bavarian Bierhaus by accident after reading it from a blog. From what I heard, this place offer quite a number of choices of German beers.

Bavarian Bierhaus is located Wisma UOA II, Jalan Pinang, Basically, it is located in between the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and Pavilion Shopping Mall.

It has a very nice atmosphere with partial air condition dining area inside. Happy hour for beers are from 12pm until 9pm

They offer a few choices of German Wheat Beers such as Erdinger, Konig Ludwig, Franziskaner and Stella Artois. Belgian beers such as Hoegaarden and Leffe are also available here.

Not long ago, I blogged and reviewed the bottled Franziskaner wheat beer and here I tried the draught beer version. The Franziskaner draught beer tastes so much better than the bottled one that even my wife (she frequently criticize about beers been bitter with awful taste) gave it a big thumbs up.

The Fraziskaner draught beer (RM25 during happy hour) was poured into a 500ml custom made glass from the brewers itself in Germany.

Franziskaner draught beer is smooth and creamy. It has a sweet banana, citrus aroma and along with the wheat flavour.

They also has Konig Ludwig (RM 29) in their menu but it is not draught beer to my disappointment

The menu here also offers a lot of food based on pork. There are so many choices to choose from and I start to realize their signature dish would be the pork knuckles and sausages.

I opt for Berlin Steak (RM42) as a test of their culinary skill. I was really impressed with what they serve here. The side dishes of mashed potato and broccoli were nicely done and cooked that I can actually taste the true flavour of the broccoli. The pork and bacon are the highlight as they are simply delicious with no traces of fat as normally found with any pork dishes.

I will definitely be back to Bavarian Bierhaus again, probably on the monthly basis to try the other wheat beers and the famous pork knuckles.
