Sarawak State Government Office Complex @ Betong

While in Betong, we notice a structure on top of a hill, overlooking the town and its surrounding area. Out of curiosity we drove to up to the hill to find out more.

I was indeed surprised to find out the building is actually a Sarawak State Government Office Complex. One of my friend even dubbed it as a mini Putrajaya

This is Block M, the main block of this magnificent complex which house the lobby, Resident Office, Court Office and exhibition hall. There is also a nice viewing platform behind this block which offer a nice view of Betong and its surrounding area.

Here is the rough layout of the complex. There are basically 4 blocks which made up the complex with Block M as the nucleus and surrounded by Block A, B and C.

Block A and C

There is a cannon guarding at the main entrance. This could be the very cannon the British used back then to defeat the famous Iban warrior, Rentap.

Some of the marking on the cannon. I wonder what are those markings meant.
