Saratok

Saratok is a small town about 115km away from Sibu. There are basically 2 routes to reach the town from the main highway and somehow we took an older route to reach the town.

When taking the older route, we came across a track and field complex in a pretty awkard surrounding. It is located by the road side and surrounded with paddy fields and lush greenery surrounding.

The best place to start exploring the town is from its riverside/jetty

A playground near the jetty. Fort Ranee is at the background.

After that we walked our way to the town square where this clock tower seems to be the landmark for this town. It's unfortunate that the clock does not tick anymore.

The town is actually much bigger than I initially anticipated. There are a few rows of shop houses, banks and inns available here.
