Fort Lily

We had a hard time locating Fort Lily in Betong as it is located between the Betong Jamek Mosque and Betong District Council Building. The fort is pretty much obscure by those 2 structures

We don't have a clear view of the fort from its main entrance and the gate is practically locked

The fort was built in 1885 and saw some exciting action when famous Iban Warrior, Rentap rebelled against Rajah Brooke. The fort was later used as police station and government office

The fort is best viewed from the compound of the Betong Jamek Mosque. This building is protected under the Sarawak Cultural Heritage Ordinance 1993
