Shell Traffic Games 2009 @ Sibu

The annual Shell Traffic Games at Rejang Park was held from 18-19th July recently. 34 schools from primary and secondary schools took part in the games.

Here are the snap shots of the participants who took part in the event.

I learn a few hand signs used from the games too. The photo above here shows the sign the contestants need to show before taking a right turn.

And this is the hand sign when stopping/braking

For those who commit a traffic "offense", a summon will be issued by the policemen which were stationed around the garden

Some of the contestants taking a break

The main stage where the prize giving and closing ceremony will be held

Just beside the traffic garden is an exhibition area

The objective of the exhibition is to create awareness to the motorist and pedestrian about safety

The Civil Defense Department booth with their rescue gears and equipment

Interestingly, there was also a display of drugs such as cocaine, crack, L.S.D, Crack, Magic mushrooms and etc
