My New Olympus Camera

My new replacement camera is the stylish Olympus u-9000 series at RM1,300.

The u-9000 has a few good features and functions but my issue with this camera is that the photos taken by this camera tend to be over expose.

Another new mode called the Beauty mode is incorporated in this camera which enhance the skin tone and texture. It has 10x optical zoom which might come in handy to shoot a far object.

The Olympus Software 2 which comes with both this camera is also an upgrade of its predecessor and I'm satisfy with it.

The buttons, dial and console are smaller than my previous camera, the mju 800. I definitely need sometime to adjust myself but most of the functions and features are the same as my previous camera with most of them been upgraded.

Both the battery and the memory card share the same chamber unlike my previous mju 800 where the battery and the memory card are located at different chamber.

The transfer cable port is conveniently located at the side of the camera. This is another improvement in term of the design from its predecessor.

The camera also support microSD card and Olympus package comes with the microSD attachment. Only the Olympus microSD attachment will be compatible with their camera and one should not lose this attachment

This time around, I also getting a spare camera in case of emergency when my primary camera (which is the u-9000) failed. The Olympus FE-3010 (RM600) been chosen for its simplicity and slim feature. This unit will also be used by my parents when they go travelling.

The FE-3010 is obviously inferior compare to the u-9000 (even though both are 12 megapixel) as the photo quality shot by this camera is not as sharp as the u-9000.

One of the advantage of FE-3010 is its portability due to its size. The buttons and console had been simplified and should make life easier for the first timer.

Both the battery and memory card slot are in the same compartment beneath the camera. This camera also support microSD memory card.

I think this site ought to be sponsored by Olympus for obvious reason. He.... he.....

Wow Chang Yee, seen like you're great supporter of Olympus! As for me, I have few cameras too in my arsenal. I can understand sometime it can be frustrating when you lost the golden opportunity to lock in that special moment simply due to lack of tool :P

Thanks a lot for the information. Olympus cameras are my favorite. This camera has good features and design. I also like Olympus FE-3010. It is very well designed, reasonably priced and very user friendly. People will be satisfied with the availability of three colors- pink, black and silver. The picture quality is not very good, it lacks sharpness. For more details refer olympus digital cameras
