Removing Mildew from Furniture

Ever experience mildew or mold on wood furniture? Mold or mildew is a type of fungus that thrives and multiplies in warm , moist environment.

Furniture made from natural wood is especially prone to such growth. I had such problems few months ago and been searching high and low to counter this problem. I tried everything. If one wipe them with a damp or dry cloth, the mold or mildew will be back in just 2-3 days only!

Finally, I came out with a solution. All that are required are detergent, bleach, pail and cloth

Add mild detergent to a bucket of water. Just add a little will do.

Bleach can also be used together with the mild detergent. Bleach is a powerful solution and will ensure the mold and mildew will not grow back.

With the mixture of of bleach and detergent solution, soak a cloth into the solution. Wring the cloth until it is almost dry and wipe the wood furniture with it. Let the surface dry. In my case, the mold or mildew never appear again until now.

I used Pipit bleach for the same problem and it works, so I think the bleach is necessary. Just an opinion.

I don't think detergent or bleach brand really matter. I used both detergent and bleach for cloth. The secret is the chemical inside the bleach that seems to terminate the mildew once and for all.
