Kuching Town Mosque

Next to Brooke Dockyard at Lebuh Market is a beautiful mosque on a hilltop. The mosque is known as Kuching City Mosque or Divisional mosque.

Kuching City Mosque is the first mosque in the city and was built by Datuk Patinggi Ali in 1847. However, the existing mosque is a new mosque and was built on the same site as the original mosque was declared open by the King of Malaysia on 20th September 1968.

Its distinctive golden dome is a recognized landmark of Kuching. The mosque can accommodate 4000 worshippers.

With the location at the hilltop, it offer a picturesque view of the city as well as the river (not shown here)
