Little India @ Georgetown

In the heart of Georgetown, in way of Lebuh Pasar is the Little India. I came to know Little India from the Penang map and decide to check it out.

One of the most prominent structure at Little India is the Kapitan Kling Mosque. Built in 1801, this grand Indian Muslim mosque which boasts of Moorish architecture was founded by Cauder Mydin Merican alias Kapitan Keling, the headman of the muslim community during that era. Its present form is the result of a second renovation undertaken in the 1930s

All the shops and decoration around here reflect on the Indian culture. Indian songs can also be heard when one strolling along the street.

I just went buy to have a peek at the area. Hardly any time to really soak into the atmosphere and bought any souvenir. He...He.... After all, I was in Penang for business trip, not for leisure.
