Yummy Viet

We spotted Yummy Viet at 28, Smith Street at Singapore Chinatown. The restaurant serves authentic Vietnamese food. It has been a while since we visited a Vietnamese restaurant.

The interior decoration had a few paintings depicting Vietnam.

The sauces also appear originated from Vietnam. The utensils are readily available at each table

I ordered fried cube beef with macaroni (SGD 5.50). I am rather surprise they add Italian food to it. By the way, the beef cube is the best I have ever tasted. Nice and spicy.

My wife was having Chicken Pho (SGD 4.50). My first impression by looking at the dish was it must be plain. How was I wrong, the soup was delicious and rich in flavour. It contains noddle, meat and chicken. Everything inside it tastes good.

For drinks, we were having Lime in pickle brain juice (SGD 2.80). It's sour and sweet. Never try anything like this before but I like it.

Another surprising finding when I went to pay for the bill was that this restaurant charge for the tissue paper used, 1 pieces for SGD 0.30. I think this is the first time I been charged for a tissue paper. I thought it is suppose to be free.

I still keep the receipt from this restaurant and it clearly printed the charges for the issue paper.

I think they should have notified the customers before hand.

There is no notice whatsoever and the tissue paper container is placed on the table.

Sorry bro, I don't like Vietnamese food, at least those that I tried in Ho Chi Minh. =P

Oh ya, I wanted to ask you about the tissue paper that they charged u. Does it come as a pack of wet tissue? Cos that usually costs S$0.20 or S$0.30. Usually I would ask them to keep the tissue.

I don't like Vietnamese food. They are expensive in Singapore (apparently I don't see the value in them fore being so expensive). Even when I was in Ho Chih Minh city, the Vietnamese food that I ordered are overly priced too. And not nice. =P
