On the Eve of Hari Raya

Today the Muslims are celebrating the Hari Raya and on the eve of Hari Raya, me and my wife went to Kampung Datuk, Sibu. We did this every year and this year is no different.

The main highlight is the oil lamps along the road which used to be spectacular many years back. This year only a small stretch was lighted by the kerosene based lamp. I hope the people there will continue the tradition and bring back the glory days where the whole stretch of road was virtually lit by oil lamp. It was really a sight to be behold in the old days.

I would like to wish the Muslims Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Maaf Zahir Batin.

Here in the Philippines, today (October 1) was declared a regular holiday in observance of Eid'l Fitr, the feast of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
