Kuini

Kuini is a native Malaysian fruit. The fruits have a fragrant and strong smell but not unpleasant. One can even place the fruit in an enclosed room and it will make the whole room smell really nice. This is what I called natural air freshener.

I have 2 kuini trees at my house back yard. Used to have 3 until my father chopped down 1 of them last year. These trees had been around for more than 25 years.

The trees also provide essential shades to my house to keep the temperature cool from the sun.

It's kuini season again now. The trees started to bear fruits few weeks ago. Best of all, the fruits will fall down by itself when ripe. Hence, there is no extra effort needed to retrieve the ripe fruit. I practically grew up eating this fruit every single year.

Peel of its skin with a knife or peeler. The flesh is light orange colour and is juicy sweet. Kuini is same type of mango. The sap on the kuini is poisonous. Never eat unripe kuini

This is the seed with all its flesh sliced off. My mother always said the seed is the sweetest part. The remaining flesh of the seed can be munched.

This is how the seed looks like with its surrounding flesh munched away. The seed is flat and long. One can plant it and hope a tree came out of it

So interesting! Even though we have some exotic fruits over here in Sweden, I can't remember seeing this one. And of course not tasted it either!

yes..this mango gives a very strong smell... can smell it even from a distance.. when one has a boil or a sore, better refrain from taking it.
Borneo, how to improve ranking on my blog? i heard once i do paid posts for other websites, the ranking will be affected..is it true?

It really looks like mango, but it isn't mango? And the sap on the tree is poisonous? wow. I love mango but it's expensive to buy big mangoes in Singapore. We last bought an expensive big mango at S$3 but it isn't sweet. Once we bought one that was partly unripen and partly over-ripen.
